About CAPTAIN RUSTY

I was raised on the Outer Banks of N.C. where, at an early age, I began learning the ropes of the family business, Fishing. In my high school and college years I worked on both commercial and charter boats out of Hatteras and Oregon Inlets. I worked with some of the best Captains in the industry and constantly picked their brains. Even though I was doing what I loved, I made a career change. With the economy going down hill, charter numbers poor and a little push from my elders, I joined the Coast Guard. It has turned out to be a great move. I have learned a lot and been fortunate enough to fish in some of the greastest places in the country. My first two years were spent in Oklahoma on the Arkansas River. From there I went to Louisiana were I spent 4 1/2 years fishing for a wide variety of saltwater game fish. I also made many good friends and met my lovely wife Mandie. Now I'm back in the good ol' Carolinas and ready to continue the family business.
